Romanteek is a spectral pop-cabaret dance band from Olympia, Washington. From the Northwest earth of Olympia, a two-million year old artesian well flows and quenches the thirst of the modern people. Channeling this ancient water the timeless voice of Ruby Valentine pours through the sound of Romanteek, which varies from haunting psychedelic rock to playful sugar pop, with a steady current of deep sultry groove. Over the last ten years Romanteek has been crafting heart-throbbing jams, touring America and Europe on a mission to make people dance. Their latest incarnation is something new, which broadens the spectrum and travels into deeper and darker places.
The three piece band is simple yet multi-dimensional. The tasteful reverb drenched guitar of Le Matt is complimented by the understated and steady drumming of Emerson Kwo. Keyboard and hand percussion are added by Ruby Valentine, who sews the sound together with her voice. With each song she spins stories of love, magic and the unknown. The audience is lulled into a trance, helplessly lost in the present - moving to the music.
